How many of you are affected by COLD temperatures??

Here we are in the cold of Winter (I am located in Upstate New York) and I am extremely heat sensitive. I learned from my neurologist that extremes in cold can effect as bad as heat can.

Are you one of those affected by cold temperatures? I can tell you for certain that heat does horrible things to me -- but I cannot say the same for the cold. I just wanted to hear some others chime in and see what the consensus is?

Think warm thoughts (not too hot, not too cold) :)

I just wanted to chime in on the discussion of being affected by cold extremes....YES! I am an MS patient and have discovered that either extreme (too hot OR too cold) has terrible outcomes for me. It took several months for me to completely understand this because I was so focused on avoiding heat...(I live in TX so it is challenging) but after continued severe exacerbations during the colder TX months, it became apparent what the case involved. I have just tried to modify the temperatures ensuring that I take all necessary steps to having a comfortable existance :)

I have found that I don't necessarily have exacerbations, but it has been harder for me to control my body temperature. For example, it takes an extremely long time for me to warm up if I get too cold and to cool down if I get too hot.

I do get over heated real easy and can't stand the heat but in the winter up here in Wisconsin the cold don't bother me at allbut a hot shower or bath will make me not to be able to move till I am cooled off makes it kind of tough to get out side in the summer with hi heat and if it is humid seems to me people with MS and cant stand the heat dont swet at all or very little
